Some people thend to make a shortcut from procedural music to ByteBeat.
Of course, ByteBeat music is generated by a procedure, 1 procedure to be precise. But it's the lowest level of generation. Only 1 procedure, and with as few operations as possible.
For me, ByteBeat is a form of procedural music, a very specific form; and though many people like ByteBeat music and are fascinated by these short programs (including me), it's not the same deal.
At least, the NoMan'sSky version of ByteBeat keeps the spirit of ByteBeat but proposes something more powerful, though being still simple in its concept.
